Over many years there were times when I felt the urge to keep the bubble the shape it was at the moment, but I didn’t give in. This is not only due to my aversion of the accidental school of design; the way I have come to think and plan almost all of my art is to draw from thoughts and visions, then create the form in 3D via different processes with glass and metal. In 2015 I began making some blown glass forms that were a response to my observation of the bubble as it was blown. The linear images are cut through the white layer of glass to reveal clear or colored glass. These are drawings in the round, so it is necessary to move around the piece to see the entire image. I have tried, with line emphasis and color, to give the drawings a life on the glass form.
